the process

I was hired as a reservationist at Little Owl in 2011, where I became literate in the problems faced by restaurant owners, staff, and most importantly, those of the guests. I became their office manager and director of social media shortly after, and that literacy became a fluency. After creating a blog for their events production department, Tumblr theme customization became code tinkering and a couple o’clicks and classes later I was taking on the project of my little lifetime: redesigning Little Owl’s website.

As a person well versed in the challenges faced by guests using the current site, I designed Little Owl’s website with their guest at the front of my mind and as the owner’s right-hand & Lead Designer, I was excited at the opportunity to articulate his aesthetic and encapsulate the essence of a restaurant so dear in so many hearts.
